Good Kiddie Jams

I have very a extensive taste in music. The genres I enjoy go all the way from Heavy Metal, Independent Rock & Gospel to Bluegrass, Pop & Soul etc.

For example, if you were in the A's of my Spotify you'd see: Aretha Franklin, Ace of Base, Arcade Fire, Amy Winehouse, The Avett Brothers & Alison Krauss....

See! "Gurl....I'm cray!"

I love everything (my Spotify library has 6,000 tracks) and get bored quickly  so I'm constantly consuming new & unique music.

If her musical taste turns out to be as awesome as her fashion sense...we good.

With this in mind I've been looking for unique children's music for JP since I first found out I was pregnant.

Because, besides the fact that I'd like her to be exposed to as much musical variety as possible, I'll have to listen to this crap too! ;)

As much as I love the nostalgic Disney songs, they get old after awhile. There's only so many times you can jam to my beloved "Under The Sea" while chopping carrots for dinner before you throw the carrots against the wall screaming "F** Under the Sea!" (ok that never  really happened...but you know what I mean :) ).

Plus, a lot of the children's radio stations tend to play super annoying well....crap.

I'm happy to report that if you are willing to dig around Spotify, i Tunes & the Internet there are some great choices out there. A lot of artists have contributed to children's music that might surprise you and there are also a lot of songs that aren't necessarily made for kids, but are kid appropriate.

So I decided in this week's post, to share some of my discoveries!
